La berrea in Potes


La berrea is a name used to describe the strong sound that the males of the red deers emit during their mating season.
This period begins in autumn (at the end of September) when males try to dominate the territory by fighting and using their antlers. Their perfet territories are the ones in which females drink or eat.
La berrea is a touristic attraction and there are special routes in the season it takes place. These routes are made in 4x4 vehicles which takes visitors to the most populated area of the National Park of Picos de Europa and Liébana.
